No matter who you are or what your passions is building a engaging fan base is essential in this era. Why? Because that’s where everyone is on the internet and people with the audience gets attention.
Where attention goes energy flows. What I mean by energy includes money, opportunity and the ability to impact many lives in a positive way. Now who wouldn’t want to do that at push of button?
Power of Fanbase
If your not familiar with NBA YoungBoy you must be sleeping under a rock. Kentrell Gaulden, known professionally as YoungBoy Never Broke Again, is an American rapper. Between 2015 and 2017, YB would release eight independent mixtapes locally and online, and steadily garner a cult following through his work.
YB is now 20 with the number 1 album in the world. That’s amazing to say the least especially how he was able to do it with internet fan-base. No press, No promo, nothing!
This young man understands the power of YouTube feeding his audience regularly. It’s crazy because his music videos are almost like vlogs.
As of January 2019, YoungBoy has been on YouTube‘s Top Music Artists list in the United States for the previous 101 weeks, making him the most-watched musician across all genres.
NBA YoungBoy is currently serving a 14 month-long house arrest sentence, following a probation violation earlier this year. Therefore, he’s unable to record music from anywhere besides his house. On September 25, 2019, YoungBoy released the “aptly titled” single “House Arrest Tingz”.
On October 10, 2019, YoungBoy released his mixtape AI YoungBoy 2, marking his first full length project since 2018’s Realer. YoungBoy was able to get his first number one album on the Billboard 200 because the album had accumulated 144.7 million on-demand audio streams during its first week, becoming one of the top ten biggest streaming debuts of 2019.
We could go on about YB but the point i’m trying to get across is you need a fan-base in 2019 if you plan to do anything in a big way. Why do you think I write these articles to build my fan-base and positively impact lives.
How To Build Fanbase
First know who your audience is and who you want to target.
Secondly be your own PR build your own public image.
Third harness as many marketing channels as possible for example social media, email, etc.
Fourth create your website and make sure that is mobile optimized. Make it fun to be your fan do giveaways, competitions anything to engage your audience.
Fifth be exclusive cater to them make them a priority give them the insight and behind the scenes of your passions.
Now that you know how to establish your fan base all you need to do is turn them into a community. A community is really just a group of people that have something in common. And that something can be anything. A belief, a passion, an interest, a language.
From everything we’ve seen, having a highly engaged, close community of your biggest fans leads to real revenue and value. Sure, we know having those big follower numbers on your social media pages feels great, but, according to the Pareto Principle, 80% of your sales will come from just the most highly engaged 20% of your fans.
You need to work out who that 20% is and how to gather them together into a community.
There is no better time than now to start curating your community will it happen over night No, but will it happen yes if you stay consistent and continue to prime the pump.
Give, give, give and boom water is going burst out more than you can handle, yes the compound effect of doing little thing consistently.
I decree and declare that if you follow the steps laid out above you shall not lack and your cup shall runneth over.
